For players#

  • Tirisfal Glades no longer sends you to Executor Arren for The Adventurer before he offers it: the quest needs The Red Messenger handed in first (thanks mtbhuskies, Soulevoker, mcclaskiem and petllama, #792).
  • Durotar (Orc, Troll): Forgotten Loa Idols is taken from Master Vornal right after Report to Sen'jin Village is handed in, when he offers it (thanks kieran1188, #796).
  • A quest's objectives listed "along the way" no longer vanish when the guide reaches the step that hands it in: they stay under the step until they are done, so "Turn in" never hides what is left (thanks Zyd and jkw, #797, #809).
  • Tirisfal Glades: if you are already level 5 on the road from Calvin Montague to Brill, Gordo's Task and its Gloom Weed are listed along the way, so you can take it when you pass Gordo (thanks petllama, #798).
  • Tirisfal Glades: Tomb Weed is taken from Junior Apothecary Holland when Doom Weed is handed in, not on the first Brill stop, and Paladins take A Difficult Path once The Mindless Ones is handed in (thanks Livnthedream, #800).
  • Tirisfal Glades: WANTED: Maggot Eye is taken from the poster in Brill on your second visit, when you have the level 6 it needs, still before Maggot Eye's camp (#801, thanks petllama).
  • Zephras Isle (Alliance): Welcome to Shen'dar Village and The Missing Scholar say "Talk to" Rathiril Sunlance, Coriella Calmbreeze and Fillion Flamebreeze instead of asking you to kill them (thanks Visur, #802).
  • Durotar (Orc, Troll) and the Orgrimmar and Darkspear Trolls reputation guides no longer send you to Rezlak for Stormy Potential before he offers it: it follows A Simmering Storm, which starts from the Dull Storm Orb a Storm Witch may drop, so it is now an optional extra, and without the orb you skip the last walk back to Rezlak. The reputation guides' tip now says the orb drops from the Storm Witches, not the lizards (thanks Rohkin, #807).
  • The class-quest card no longer shows up for a line meant for every class but one: a Mage in Tirisfal is not told to learn Redemption, and Warriors in Durotar don't get a Warlock card for Vile Familiars (thanks Michael, #812).
  • Elwynn Forest: the Applejack Still comes once, right after Homer Stonefield sells you the apples, instead of on the first trip west before you have any, and the guide says the quest never shows in your log, to keep the Thunder Applejack for Sergeant De Vries, and that looted apples count too (thanks Onrevax and bob, #820, #823).
  • Zephras Isle: A Last Request's Bloody Note is ticked as soon as you read it, instead of waiting for Skypriest Aanders (#825).
  • On a "kill these as you meet them" step the arrow now leads to the nearest mobs at or below your level + 1 first, and moves on to the tougher ones once those are done or you have leveled: in Westfall, a level 12 player leaving Sentinel Hill is sent to the Defias before the Goretusks and Harvest Watchers. For an item that several kinds of mob drop, the arrow searches the places of the ones at your level first (thanks Erá, #827).
  • Leveling routes no longer send you to a quest giver before you are high enough to take the quest: the quest is taken on a later stop by its giver, or the guide says to reach its level first. In the Valley of Trials, Lazy Peons is now taken on the way back to the Den after the valley loop, not at level 2.
  • Polestar Client shares your play by default, unless you stopped sharing in it or typed /psrec off in the game. A notice says once what is shared (no character, realm or account names) and where to see exactly what was sent, with a Stop sharing button. The Recorder on its own, without the Client, still stays off until /psrec on.
  • Polestar Client no longer stops sending your play after an upload with "PolestarRecorderDB.chunks has an unexpected value" (thanks Fyurie).
  • Polestar Client shows a waiting update across the top of every page, with "Update to <version>": one click, instead of scrolling to the bottom of Settings.
  • Darkshore (Night Elf): Swelling Forces and its level 20 naga wait for your later Darkshore visit, when Arbal offers it, instead of a trip north at level 13.
  • Elwynn Forest: a clear warning that Croaky is a level 11 elite (optional; with a group or from level 10).
  • The Recorder no longer shows a Lua error about isFullUpdate when the game hides your buffs' details from addons.
  • Smoother frame rate while you move: the arrow's path finding takes a small, fixed slice of each frame instead of up to half of it at high frame rates, reuses the map pieces it has just read instead of reading them again, and no longer works out flight and hearth options for a waypoint within 400 yards of you. The short stutters when a new waypoint is set, or every 50 yards of running, are much rarer and shorter.
  • Westfall: Harvesting the Harvesters sends you to the Harvest Watchers for the Harvester Gyrostabilizers, the only mobs that drop them, instead of the level 17-18 Harvest Reapers (thanks Erá).

For contributors#

  • The Discord bot no longer answers reports with a note about the pathing overhaul or puts them on hold: walking and arrow reports are triaged like any other.

Forge#

  • Hand in while there: a quest finished within 160 yards of its turn-in NPC is handed in before the route walks 300 yards or more away, not on a trip back (Sarkoth at Hana'zua). Waiting stays when the follow-up needs a level not reached yet or the route returns to that NPC anyway. The route planner moves and guards it, forge judge check reports it as finished-near (a blocker to level 30, a warning above) and forge sim route --audit lists it on written routes.
  • A turn-in whose NPC stands on a loop's way is written inside the area step, right after the goal that finishes the quest, when it adds at most 40 yards and saves a walk back later.
  • Guide titles leave out the capitals and zones the guide hardly quests in; a race's lead-in to the shared guide of the same zone is merged into it.
