Community guides in one click
On a community guideOne route, written as a .guide file and compiled to Lua; its id reads like forever/alliance/human/01-elwynn-forest.'s page on
polestar.guide, choose Download guide, then Install with Polestar
Client. The client opens with a confirm sheet; there is no account. Its
Community Guides page installs, updates and removes them.
Automatic guide updates, if you want them
They are off by default and
take routine updates only, a day after release. A new publisher or new
folders always asks first.
Careful with your AddOns folder
Every guide list is signature-checked,
and only guide files go into AddOns. If polestar.guide pulls a guide, the
client turns it off or removes it and shows you why.
Recording, opt-in
Choose Start sharing in the client and it uploads
what the Polestar Recorder addon logs (quests, kills, NPC positions) to help
build better routes. Character names are stripped and chat is never sent. The
What we send page shows all of it. Recording starts with the next
Polestar update.
Looks after itself
It updates itself with signed updates, and lives in
the tray with a small window. No account, no login.
