Polestar is a free, open-source (GPL-3.0) leveling guide addon for World of Warcraft: Forever. Every guide here ships inside the addon: in game, `/polestar guides` opens the guide menu, and the guide window shows the steps with a waypoint arrow.

## Steps

The steps as the guide window shows them, in order. Goals marked with a race or class are only for that race or class; a step marked with a condition applies only while it holds.

### 1. Gakin's Summons (Humans) (Human only)

Where: 44.5, 66.3 on the Elwynn Forest map.

At 10 Remen Marcot, in the cellar of the Lion's Pride Inn in Goldshire (the stairs down are in the back room past the butcher's table), sends you to Gakin the Darkbinder in Stormwind.

- Reach level **10**
- Accept **Gakin's Summons** from Remen Marcot — Remen Marcot, Lion's Pride Inn cellar

### 2. The Slaughtered Lamb (Gnomes) (Gnome only)

At 10 Lago Blackwrench, the warlock trainer in Ironforge's Forlorn Cavern, sends you to Gakin the Darkbinder in Stormwind. Take the Deeprun Tram from Tinker Town. If Lago does not offer it, go to Gakin anyway: he still gives you the next quest.

- Reach level **10**
- Accept **The Slaughtered Lamb** from Lago Blackwrench — Lago Blackwrench, Forlorn Cavern

### 3. Gakin the Darkbinder

Where: 14.2, 45.1 on the Elwynn Forest map.

The Slaughtered Lamb is the tavern in the Mage Quarter; Gakin is in its cellar, down the stairs inside.

- Turn in **Gakin's Summons** at Gakin the Darkbinder (Human only)
- Turn in **The Slaughtered Lamb** at Gakin the Darkbinder (Gnome only)
- Accept **Surena Caledon** from Gakin the Darkbinder

### 4. Surena Caledon

Where: 71, 80.8 on the Elwynn Forest map.

Surena Caledon (level 9) is inside the farmhouse at the Brackwell Pumpkin Patch, south-east Elwynn near the Redridge road. Morgan the Collector (level 10) and a warrior stand with her and join the fight; Morgan gouges and goes for your imp, so keep him Feared. Put your damage over time on Surena first, Fear the others, and loot her choker before you finish them: it stays yours even if you die after. She throws fireballs from range and is back three minutes after she dies. Have the quest before you kill her, or the choker does not drop.

- Kill **Surena Caledon** (optional)
- Kill **Surena Caledon** for **Surena's Choker** for Surena Caledon

### 5. The Binding

Where: 14.2, 45.1 on the Elwynn Forest map.

Back to Gakin. He hands you the Bloodstone Choker. The circle is hard to find: take the stairs behind Gakin down; part way along the lowest corridor a side stair on the left leads into a room with a glowing purple circle in the middle. Stand on it and use the choker. The voidwalker (level 10, not elite) gets dangerous below 30% health: Curse of Agony, Corruption and Immolate with your imp on it, Fear when it gets close. If it beats you, use the choker again. Keep the choker: Gakin takes it back.

- Turn in **Surena Caledon** at Gakin the Darkbinder
- Accept **The Binding** from Gakin the Darkbinder
- Use **Bloodstone Choker** — Bloodstone Choker, on the circle in the crypt
- Kill **Summoned Voidwalker** for The Binding
- Turn in **The Binding** at Gakin the Darkbinder — Gakin the Darkbinder: Summon Voidwalker
